Fünf Jahre später berichtet er darüber der Akademie – soweit bekannt.\nAnpassen, um zu überleben – Kafkas Rotpeter ist in der Gegenwart angekommen\nIn dieser außergewöhnlichen Adaption von Franz Kafkas Ein Bericht für eine Akademie, erweckt der südafrikanische Regisseur Phala Ookeditse Phala die Figur des Affenmenschen mit emotionaler Tiefe und ironischen Nuancen zum Leben. Die Geschichte wird aus der Perspektive des Affen und seiner Beziehungen zur Welt um ihn herum erzählt. Themen wie Anderssein, Entfremdung, Unmenschlichkeit, Dissoziation und die quälende Erfahrung, sich im eigenen Körper nicht zu Hause zu fühlen sind die zentralen Themen.\nDer südafrikanische Schauspieler Tony Miyambo führt uns das in KAFKA‚S APE eindrucksvoll vor Augen. Sein „Rotpeter“ vereint unglaubliche Vitalität und überschäumende Kraft mit einer facettenreichen Sanftheit – und offenbart die Spannungen zwischen Anpassung und Auflehnung, zwischen Angst und Selbstbehauptung.\nIm Anschluss an die Vorstellung findet ein kurzes Publikumsgespräch (Q&A) mit Tony Miyambo und  Malak Jayeola Aderounmu statt. Sie ist Autorin, Kuratorin literarischer Veranstaltungen und Sprachkunst-Studentin an der Universität für angewandte Kunst (die Angewandte).\nDas Ateliertheater präsentiert zum ersten Mal in Österreich die preisgekrönte südafrikanische Produktion Kafka‚s Ape, die beim Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024 für Furore sorgte.\nDas Stück begeisterte bereits auf Festivals in Australien, den USA und Tschechien und wurde zuletzt beim Fringe Festival in Edinburgh mit dem Lustrum Award und dem Spirit of the Fringe Award ausgezeichnet.\nDie Aufführung findet in englischer Sprache statt. Gefördert aus dem Kulturbudget des Bezirks Neubau\n \nhe monkey Red Peter is kidnapped in Africa, tortured, and taken to Europe.  He survives by adapting to humans and imitating them. He is the Co-Director of Noma Yini. His has over 20 years experience arts practice which include working at The Centre for the Less Good Idea as its Animater.\nHe holds a Masters in Dramatic Arts from University of the Witwatersrand. His works champion emotional and psychologically-stimulating storying as a uniquely African aesthetic.
