KVARTYRNYK
This year, KVARTYRNYK, a project created by ATELIERTHEATER, returns with a new program featuring young international artists. This evening will bring together fresh music, experimental theater, literary performances, and other creative ideas.
As before, the artists joined through our Open Call, and for many, this will be their first time performing on stage. KVARTYRNYK remains a space for emerging artists to share their work and connect with new audiences.
The first three editions of KVARTYRNYK focused on Ukrainian artists, introducing more than six new performers and bands to the stage. This year, we expand the program to include talents from around the world.
So, save the dates for this year’s KVARTYRNYK young art evenings, where you will discover artists shaping the modern and international cultural landscape of Vienna!
PROGRAM LIST 20.FEB, 20:00
20:00 – 20:05 | Welcome Words – Stasia Garus
Opening words from the project curator.
20:05 – 20:30 | Wiener Austropop Songs – Julian Kerner
Immerse yourself in the unique world of Wiener Austropop, where vibrant melodies and heartfelt lyrics combine seamlessly to tell stories that resonate with all generations.
20:30 – 21:00 | Performance „Gentleman“ + Q&A – Oleksandr Halishchuk
„Honorable man,“ „empath,“ „nice guy,“ „true man“—labels toxic men give themselves. This performance gives them a „voice,“ presenting real stories and comments from so-called „tolerant nice guys“ about queer and feminine practices. A look at masculinity through their own words.
21:00 – 21:15 | Short Break
21:15 – 21:45 | Experimental Music Performance – Brothers Paluš
A live performance that combines the frantic and experimental sound of the piano with the calm rhythms of the drums.

- Oleksandr Halishchuk (they/he/she) – a multimedia artist, curator, queer-anarchist and grassroots activist born in 1999 at Melitopol (southern Ukraine). In their artistic practice private-sincere and political-triggering are inseparable, they like to explore the intersections of such concepts as: truth and sincerity, hearing and listening, presence and being somewhere physically through personal (marginalized, queer, traumatic) life experiences.
